Thinking about closing Eye of Harmony and moving back to DannyStewart.com. The domain name is about to expire and no one ever really put their heart into the site. Thoughts?
So…

The EOH is a great place. I've put my heart here, and it seems like it should stay. (Now what would be really cool is if we had to have the DSF back, that DSF would be like the old one.)

I don't think the problem is that we haven't put our hearts into it. I, for example, haven't posted on here any more or less than on other forums, and I'm always checking back here to see if there have been any new posts. The problem, it seems to me, is simply that just about nobody knows about this forum. We haven't done a very good job advertising.

How opposed would you be to simply switching the venue? The community would obviously be retained… I'm just finding it difficult (not to mention pointless) to manage two sites where I could very easily just manage one.

Agreed… and I didn't mean to pick on any specific individuals; I was merely making an observation on the condition of the forums in general (which I think you'll agree is difficult to argue with).

Wholeheartedly agreed. This was a concern of mine since I opened the site, and it never got addressed. Without exposure, there doesn't seem to be much of a point. The simple truth is that I'm very busy with a new job right now. If some people were willing to step up, work on some site exposure (especially posting articles to the main page), and see that the forums were used more actively, I'd be willing to pony up the money to keep EoH going.
But without that kind of commitment from even a couple of people, I just don't see the point.

I personally wouldn't mind a reincarnation of the DSF. Considering that's how I got involve in the first place nearly five years ago, it seems sorta nostalgic.

man as long as i dont have to create my fucking account for the ninth time then okay

You want nostalgia?

Another plus for the DSF was that it looked nicer, plus it was easier to navigate round.

Sure would be nice if you had a complaint about the current site that you brought it to my attention when I asked for feedback on the new forums.

maybe he couldn't find the feedback topic because the new site is so hard to navigate

Alright, screw it. Everyone go back to DannyStewart.com and party like it's 2007.

I'll work on moving crap over later, but I think Eye of Harmony is deadder than a doornail.

Hmm. I honestly think Eye of Harmony works, it's just under-staffed and under-populated. We need to 1. enlist new writers and/or contributors and 2. actually try and publicise the it.

Too late, the move's already happened... here, I'll link you up man...

Seems registration is disabled over there. :/

I'll put the point across to the others

Basically, registrations were disabled, now they're not. Try again, you'll find a contact form on Danny's website.
