Quite a reversal from years past. Now the showrunner's episodes are the best ones by a mile, instead of being the dreaded ones to avoid.

I've gotta say, this episode was a big improvement from last weeks. It was really gripping, dark and creepy. Parts of it reminded me of "the Caves of Androzani" which is one of my favorite stories of all time.
Can't wait to see part two.Posted 4 months ago # -
I think there might have been a reference to SCP-173 in there(basically the same as the weeping angels except weirder and grosser), which kills primarily with neck-snaps.
Great episode. All the statues being angels was a pretty big holy shit moment, along with the scene in the trailer where The Doctor is being dragged back by one and you hear it shrieking.
Makes me wonder, would actually seeing one move be another Holy Shit moment or would it make them less scary?Posted 4 months ago # -
Episode didn't really do much for me, good setup for part two, but didn't do much as an episode on its own.

What RV said has just made me thought, this episode reminded me of the first part of a classic series story. The first episode really acts as to set the scene, and the following parts act as the major plot.

I thought of that. The flow reminded me of a 4-parter from the old series.

Which works for me.

Me too. No complaints.

If part two were to end up as good as part one (or better), I would say this is the strongest story of the series so far.

Needless to say, this means I'm eagerly awaiting tomorrow night now. I honestly can't remember being so excited about Doctor Who since when I first started watching it.
